About the JCC

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh is one of the largest service and recreational organizations of its type in the United States, serving a population ranging from six weeks old to centenarians. Today's JCC reflects an impressive evolution from its inception in 1895 as the Irene Kaufmann Settlement - an organization that was established to respond to the emerging needs of a growing community of new immigrants to Pittsburgh. Today's membership comprises approximately 16,000 people of all backgrounds, and more than 2,800 individuals enter the JCC's facilities on a daily basis.

The mission of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh is to enrich our community by cultivating an inclusive, dynamic environment built upon Jewish values, heritage, and culture. We offer programs of excellence that span the life cycle and strengthen the physical, intellectual, and spiritual well being of individuals and families from generation to generation.
