The Hazon Cross-USA Bike Ride is coming to Pittsburgh
The Hazon Cross-USA Bike Ride is coming to Pittsburgh! Come out and meet the riders who are cycling from Seattle to DC. The theme of the ride is sustainable food systems; come hear about riders’ experiences and learn about food systems across the country.
Thursday, August 9th
Starting at 9:30 am, the riders will choose from one of two service options:
• Volunteering at Bike Pittsburgh for Bike Fest, a week-long celebration of cycling
• Making soup to donate to a food pantry and learning with Rabbi Werbow at Congregation Beth Shalom
Afterwards, at 12:00 pm, everyone will join together at Rodef Shalom Congregation for lunch sponsored by the synagogue, and a tour of their Biblical Botanical Gardens.
In the evening at 7:30 pm, the whole group will celebrate the final week of the ride with a BBQ at the JCC of Greater Pittsburgh in Squirrel Hill, featuring meat from Grow and Behold Foods.
To attend any of these events, please let us know by quickly registering online.
It’s not too late to sign up for the last week or to join for a day! Contact Jeremy at 212-644-2332 x314 if you are interested.
