Fitness & Wellness Tip: How to Relax

Tips on relaxation and stressJust relax. What is it about that well-intended advice-usually suggested when you’re tearing your hair out- thatmakes you do just the opposite? Being told to relax, it seems, is the quickest way to make someone even more tense. But you can choose to relax and, you should know, your continued good health depends on it.

When you’re constantly under stress, the body produces high levels of the hormone cortisol, which is a natural steroid. Frequently elevated  levels of cortisol can cause weight gain, poor sleep, immune deficiencies, and irritability. And who needs all that? If you think you don’t have time to deal with your stress….. You can’t afford not to! There are many ways to deal with stress. Get a massage, practice yoga….

Just get moving! Exercise! Exercise! Exercise!
