Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh has an immediate need for a full-time Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist. The ideal candidate must be proficient in managing websites, email communications, social media and SEO. The ideal candidate also will contribute expertise and content strategy to other digital media projects in videos and presentations.

Desired Skills

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), an analytical spirit, superior project management and relationship-building skills, extreme attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Extensive knowledge of digital and social marketing programs including: production, online media, social behavior, research and analytics and user experience.
  • Substantial experience with email marketing
  • Strong marketing analytical skills and demonstrated experience in determining metrics, analyzing data, creating reports, assessing campaign performance and optimizing in real time when possible.
  • HTML and CSS skills and understanding of best practices for emails and online commerce
  • Experience with Google Analytics and Google Adwords

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the agency’s email communications
  • Continuing and expanding use of social media

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 1 year related experience: digital marketing, social media management, or marketing experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong sense of graphic design
  • Self-motivated and with the ability to work independently and as a team player to develop ideas and designs that are creative and innovative to meet our strategic goals. 
  • Ability to keep current with appropriate digital communications media and formats, social media, and to use web analytics in decision making. Self-educating on the job is a must for the ever-changing landscape of digital marketing trends and techniques.
  • Ability to convey the mission, programs and services of the JCC, both online and off through multi-channel platforms, including print media
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Be available for Pre Clubhouse Orientation and Monthly Staff Meetings
  • Create new Clubs and Activities monthly
  • Manage all “ run responsibilities” and check in with the Desk Manager upon arrival and departure
  • Be welcoming and engaging to all children and families.
  • Develop a positive relationship with each participant
  • Create an environment where all participants feel emotionally supported, safe, engaged, and are provided with new opportunities each day.
  • Praise positive behavior and group behavior; manage undesirable behavior
  • Monitor cleanliness of participants, and  Clubhouse rooms
