Exercise Classes and Programs
The Personal Training Team at the JCC is a group of dedicated fitness experts with various experience and expertise ranging from personalized routinue development to sports conditioning.
The JCC's Fitness Program is among the largest and most comprehensive programs in Pittsburgh. Classes include Step, Yoga, Pilates Mat, Group Kick, Senior Aerobics, Group Power, Group Centergy and more!
The H.I.I.T List
Build strength and burn calories in less than an hour!
High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short recovery periods.
4 People. 1 Trainers. 2 Workouts.
All the benefits of individualized training plus the motivation and competition of a small group.
Sports Conditioning-Basketball, Volleyball, Gymnastics and Swimming
Presented by Allegheny and Chesapeake Physical Therapy and JCC Personal Training. This program will assess your physical performance, highlight any deficiencies that could lead to common injuries in your sport and condition you to be at peak physical fitness to excel at your sport. Space is limited.

A structured, high-intensity workout modeled after military-style training. For the exerciser who wants additional motivation and a huge calorie burn.

Group Cycling Challenge
Geared toward endurance cyclists and competitive athletes. The emphasis is on endurance, cadence, climbing and sprints, as well as team exercises. Taught by endurance athlete Dan Holland.

A biological age test determines your body's biological age, as opposed to chronological age, when compared with standard biological age markers of the general population. The Bioage assessment includes blood pressure, lung function, girth, aerobic fitness, strength/power, core strength, flexibility, lifestyle, nutrition and body composition analysis. The assessment is performed by JCC Personal Trainer Marsha Mullen, MS in Sports Medicine/Exercise Physiology. Contact Marsha Mullen at 412-339-5415.

JCC Healthy Heart Phase III Cardiac Rehabilitation
With a physician's approval, you can exercise in Centerfit. Marsha Mullen, MS ATC, will guide you through an individualized exercise program using your physician's recommendations. Contact Marsha Mullen at 412-339-5415.
Teen Fitness Certification: ages 13-15
This two-hour orientation class MUST be completed by teens prior to using the Centerfit facility. Teens will learn Centerfit rules, how to work the equipment, review safety and set goals. If none of the above times work, contact Laurie Wood at 412-697-3509 to schedule a private certification with a personal trainer.
Deck Time: ages 10-13
Exercise with your friends and work out on the Cardio Deck under the supervision of Personal Trainer Colin James. Deck Time is designed for kids who are too young for Teen Certification or new to exercising on their own.

Girls on the Run: grades 3-5
The program teaches life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with a celebratory 5K running event. The goal of the program is to nurture confidence though accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.

Parkour: ages 8-14
The art of overcoming obstacles as swiftly and efficiently as possible using only your body. The fundamentals include running, jumping and climbing. Parkour participants are called traceurs. Taught by Andrew Obenreder, professional Parkour athlete and director of the Pittsburgh Parkour Association, and his staff, the class focuses on fundamental Parkour movements, the importance of knowing your body and learning Parkour as a method of training, discipline and a problem-solving tool.
